LILLY’S SECRET is an Award Winning Short Film that explores a woman who feels empty and out of place, even though she lives a seemingly happy life.
BEAUTIFULLY Written and Directed by Emanuele Michetti, LILLY’S SECRET takes you on a powerful journey in only 10 minutes.
What defines the beauty of this short is the raw, heartfelt emotion radiated by Lilly (Deukyun Hwang). Lilly never speaks in the film – but her eyes and emotions speaks volumes to the audience. Lilly is played with such sensitivity, that it is heartbreaking to watch. She reveals an isolation, loneliness and desperation through the lens that is palpable.
Beautiful cinematography, also by Emanuele Michetti, with use of shadows and lighting that gives the film a rich texture and feeling of isolation.
The lovemaking scene so intimate, you feel as if you’re invading someone’s privacy.
The film is about life altering decisions – and the point of no return – but it’s also about making those decisions when we feel trapped and all alone.
Perhaps Lilly would have made a different decision – if only she had someone in her life she could turn to.
