Written and Directed by Debra Markowitz, THE LAST TAXI DRIVER is a Short Film about a disgrunted taxi driver (Robert Clohessy) who refuses to give up his chosen career – even when most of the inhabitants left are zombies.
This film marks the Directorial debut for Debra Markowitz.
Clohessy is the heart of this film. His performance as Dorman – the last taxi driver doing business as usual – during a zombie apocalypse – is both humorous and endearing. He embodies the look and mannerisms of a true New York taxi driver – and it shines through to perfection. His attention to character and detail are priceless.
Wonderful supporting cast include Deborah Twiss, Emily Jackson and Vincent Ticali. Marvelous score (Taylor Bradshaw) and Cinematography (Marc Riou) gives the film its flavor.
This film brings a charming humor to a familiar tale – but also sheds a light on the isolation of waiting for the next call.
